Project Overview
This project aimed to assess the efficiency of the domestic water supply system in Khan Younis, focusing on the segmentation of the network and the calculation of water balance to apply the District Metered Area (DMA) approach. The goal was to reduce water losses and improve system management through better monitoring and control.
Role of CEP on the Project:
Provided full technical support and guidance to the Non-Revenue Water (NRW) unit of the Khan Younis Municipality (KYM) in performing the technical assessment, mapping, and control of the water supply system.
Developed and calibrated hydraulic models for 470 km of pipelines.
Supported the application of the DMA approach to enable better quantification and reduction of water losses across the network.
Assisted in network district segmentation and the calculation of water balance to ensure accurate monitoring and water usage control.
Collaborated with the NRW unit to implement efficient strategies to minimize non-revenue water through precise data collection and analysis.
