The renovation of Al Amal Hospital in Khan Younis was a critical project aimed at upgrading the facility to meet current healthcare standards and enhance its ability to provide high-quality medical services to the local population. This vital healthcare institution required extensive renovations to improve its infrastructure, optimize its space, and ensure long-term capacity for future service provision.

The Center for Engineering and Planning (CEP) was entrusted with providing comprehensive consulting services for the detailed design and renovation works of the hospital. CEP’s services encompassed the master planning for the hospital, the planning of renovation works, analysis of existing services and space functions, as well as the preparation of both preliminary and detailed designs. Additionally, CEP was responsible for developing the necessary tender documents for the renovation process.

In this project, the focus was on upgrading the hospital's entire infrastructure, from medical facilities to administrative spaces, optimizing the layout to improve workflow, and ensuring compliance with modern healthcare standards. The renovation aimed at enhancing the functionality of each space, ensuring better patient care, and providing a safe, efficient environment for medical staff.

The project also took into account the future needs of the hospital, ensuring that the renovations would accommodate the hospital's growth, improve operational efficiency, and support sustainable practices.

Scope of Services:

Planning and Analysis: CEP conducted a comprehensive analysis of the existing hospital services and space functions. This process helped identify key areas that required upgrades and improvements to enhance hospital operations and patient care and updated the masterplan for the hospital.

Preliminary and Detailed Design: Based on the analysis, CEP prepared preliminary designs that outlined the layout and upgrades for the hospital. These designs were further developed into detailed plans, ensuring that the renovation works would meet the functional needs of the hospital while adhering to modern healthcare standards.

Preparation of Tender Documents: CEP was responsible for preparing comprehensive tender documents to ensure transparency and facilitate the selection of qualified contractors. These documents included specifications, project timelines, and guidelines for the renovation work. The implementation of the renovation works included 8 packages ensuring continual operation of the hospital.

Future-Proofing: The designs also considered the future needs of the hospital, ensuring that the renovations would support long-term service provision and accommodate the hospital's growth.
