Khan Younis Water Supply and Distribution Master Plan: CEP conducted a thorough assessment of the existing Khan Younis municipal water supply and distribution system including the supply wells, the water reservoirs and elevated pressure tanks and the distribution network. Based on this assessment study, CEP proposed master plans for the system development to meet the projected supply/demand configuration for the years 2010 and 2025. In addition to this assessment study, a rehabilitation scheme for all of these components was carried out. These components included; six wells, four water storage tanks, two booster-pumping stations and the distribution network. According to the recommended rehabilitation scheme for the storage tanks, the detailed design and tender documents were prepared for refurbishment of the two ground tanks of 2,000 m3 and 1,000 m3 capacities. CEP prepared detailed designs and tender documents for two new elevated water tanks with 400 m3 capacity each at Ayya and Ma’an sites with 40 m and 29 m height, respectively. Also, CEP prepared detailed design and tender documents for rehabilitation of Amal, Ahrash, Sa’ada, Ayya, Eastern and Southern wells and Sa’ada and central reservoir pumping stations with all related civil and electromechanical works. Additionally, a distribution network analyses was conducted and detailed designs and tender documents for installing 66 km of pipe works of 350 mm to 50 mm diameters were prepared.
