Network Efficiency Improvement and District Metering Implementation / Service Improvement Project for Water and Wastewater Systems in the Gaza Strip: The project objective was to improve the hydraulic efficiency of the water system in the Coastal Region of Palestine. Work was carried out jointly with GKW of Germany and involved producing detailed designs and tender documents for a zonal metering system, and preparation of a report on how the system currently operated and of proposals for how it would operate under a system of district metering. The same phase included the perpetration of a plan for each district metering area, for a total of about 150 metering points. Following the design and implementation phases, the DMAs system was commissioned and managed through a software package that was developed, installed and provided to take the logger data, production meter data and customer meter data. After the DMAs integrity checks, data collection, processing and interpretation followed, and technical analysis of sources of unaccounted for water was performed, and recommendations were prepared. CEP staff supervised the installation of the meters and all pertinent works to the highest level of professional quality according to pre planed procedures.
